Pakistan Military Continues Its Doctrines Of Lies

As soon as the new Army Chief takes over, many rumors die. In most countries of the world, Army Chiefs’ retire and new chiefs assume their duties, but in these countries such news is not seen. Even in Pakistan earlier, there was not so much noise about the appointment of the Army Chief, but Imran Khan, through his irresponsible statements, attached all the attention of the media and the public to the appointment of the Army Chief and the date of the new elections.

He also took the stand that the current political leadership does not have the authority to make new appointments, so General Bajwa should be extended until the new elected government comes.

However, Imran Khan’s desire to appoint a new army chief could not be fulfilled. The appointment of the Army Chief has kept the Pakistani society in a state of upheaval for the past one year.

Now the political leaders should consult with each other and enact such legislation that whoever is the most senior general, should become the army chief so that the chapter of politicking on this issue is closed forever.

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, in his Martyr’s Day address, acknowledged the army’s past mistakes and called the army’s interference in politics unconstitutional.

He has become neutral from politics and domestic affairs. He called the narrative of Imran Khan’s conspiracy as false and calling inappropriate titles against the military leadership against the national interest, saying that the army has started its reforms, the political parties should also reconsider their attitude.

General Bajwa’s recent statement is a very positive step for Pakistani politics and it is hoped that the new army chief will abide by it and fully endorse Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s speech at the Staff College in June 1948.

General Bajwa After this statement, it is hoped that the judicial system of Pakistan will also give priority to the rule of law and the constitution.

After the new appointment of the new Army Chief and General Bajwa’s address, observers and intellectuals are hoping that a society will emerge where the supremacy of the Constitution will be established and the dream of civilian supremacy will be fulfilled compared to our seventy-five-year-old stained past.

The federation of Pakistan will be strengthened and the mechanism of effective solution to the problem of enforced disappearances, which is weakening the roots of the federation, will be devised so that in future no Baloch woman can say that her husband has been missing for twenty years and that she does not know whether he is a widow or married!

Under these circumstances, the political leadership should be given full authority to negotiate with the separatists of Balochistan to find a lasting political solution to the problems of Balochistan. Along with this, MNA Ali Wazir should be released prioritizing the problems of former FATA districts.

It is also necessary to denounce the increasing incidents of terrorism on the part of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. The next elections will be held during the tenure of the new army chief and the new chief justice, and the nation has full hope that these elections will be held in a free and fair environment. The Election Commission will emerge as an independent body.

In the new situation, if the Pakistani army is really neutral, then the politicians will have a huge responsibility. The leadership of PDM must try to align with Imran Khan in the new situation so that all political parties can move towards a better society by accepting the decisions of the elections.

Earlier, Imran Khan started his long march from Lahore in which he tried to influence the appointment of Army Chief by using emotional slogans.

This long march diverted people’s attention from their real problems. In these changing circumstances, Imran Khan should postpone his long march and let the next election be according to the constitution. Solving problems is spent exploiting human emotions to bolster his populism.

On the one hand, they talk about the Madinah state and on the other hand, they use the same emotional slogans against the corruption and hereditary parties in Pakistan and are in a struggle to extend their power by making the institutions subservient to them.

Instead of reviving new traditions and new values, his narrative is an attempt to create heroes who transcend every rule. It is obvious that such a society cannot be helpful in promoting democratic values.

Intellectuals and observers hope that after General Bajwa’s statement, the establishment will have to give up its past ways so that no new party or group will be favored. It should be kept because in a society like Pakistan, such groups and personalities make their roots so strong in the society that the whole society has to bear its consequences.
