Pakistan has reached such a sensitive point that as a nation we need to take every several important step carefully. In the past few weeks specially past few days, we have seen such incidents that had never been seen in the 75 years of the history of Pakistan. And indeed the state of Pakistan is at a Critical Point now.

1. Recent Disruptive Upsurge in Events
In economic areas, Pakistan is similar to Sri Lanka, that has a high level of debt, a high inflation, a jump in unemployment, and a plethora of other macroeconomic and microeconomic issues, thus indicating that the Pakistan’s economy is a ticking time bomb.
Economically the country is devastated, strongly divided, and politically paralyzed, the death of Arshad Sharif created a sense of hatred towards the Government and the Military, and the recent Press Conference of DG ISI, and the Shooting at the Ex. Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, and in return what happened outside the Core Commanders’ House.
2. State of Pakistan in Anarchy
In any country in which Corps Commanders’ House in Peshawar, Pakistan could be held in arrest, what can happen to a common man’s house, can you imagine what’s coming? We should think about it and should normalize the situation. Pakistan is too close to anarchy. We have to maintain control. We certainly wanna move in a forward direction in the future, but if the situation is out of control now then the situation within Pakistan will not be affordable.
3. Does Pakistan Army Deserves hate Slogans?
Pakistan Army and General Qamar Bajwa need to have a serious consideration of the situation and you (Pakistani) as a citizen must too.
The question arises Does Pakistan Army deserves such slogans that are being heard in political campaigns and on social media platforms and the negative sentiments that are being built against the army?
Unfortunately, yes. They deserve it.
4. History of Martial Laws and Dictatorship in Pakistan
In the past, 75 years of Pakistan, the army has taken several benefits by destroying several institutions in Pakistan. Either they have Directly run the country with the help of Martial Law Administrators like General Ayub Khan, General Yahya Khan, General Zia-ul-Haq and General Musharraf or they had Indirectly sat behind the political Governments and ruled the country.
5. Martial Laws in Pakistan with Dates
No. | Name | From | To | |
1. | 1st Martial Law | Field Marshal Muhammad Ayub Khan | 07-10-1958 | 08-06-1962 |
2. | 2nd Martial Law | General Agha Muhammad Yahya Khan | 25-03-1969 | 20-12-1971 |
3. | 3rd Martial Law | General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq | 05-07-1977 | 30-12-1985 |
4. | 4th Martial Law | General Pervaiz Musharraf | 12-10-1999 | 18-08-2008 |
6. Why Pakistan could not Prosper during Military Rule
If Pakistan Army wished to improve countries economy or education or establish other institutions like Police, Justice, Judiciary, etc., no one was there to stop that growth. They could easily do it.
But unfortunately, neither they had enough competence nor they had an interest. Army interest was in DHA, their interest was in doing different businesses, and their interest was to supersede themselves in every domain of the country matters. Just by taking selfish consideration and not taking the national interest into supremacy.
7. Putting Institutions into Silence
As whatever they kept doing was not in the legal domain of the Professional Army like real state, banking, etc. Nor do the rules of the state allow business ventures for the military of the state. So they amended and destroyed the constitution even. Every institution that could ask the question on such a matter was put to silence, forever. Institutions were so weakened that no one could challenge their monopoly.
8. The Selfishness of the Pakistan Army
I think you have been very selfish. You have brought this country to a very destructive end. And what you do from here, you have to be very careful. Because do consider whatever could be done in front of the Core Commander’s house, that could happen in DHA’s, Bahria Town’s every house. The rift and anger have been instigated and you have to move forward in a technical manner.
9. What Choices does Pakistan Army have?
Unfortunately, Pakistan Army has to take a strong stance on such a movement as they cannot bear it anymore. I am not favoring such actions. As I myself am against Army’s role in political activities. And the reason behind this is if you lose control, 5 lacs to 10 lac people may die and the country might get into a total state of anarchy. And the worst form of control is still better than anarchy.
10. Why State of Pakistan will go into Anarchy?
In 75 years to maintain supremacy and to control the leading position in state departments army has taken severe steps. Other parallel institutions of the country were defamed and weakened intentionally.
Consider a house built on four pillar-like the Judiciary, Politicians, and politicians means local people are with you, as a politician is the people’s representative. But what have you done? You have harmed the real politicians who could be the representative of the general public. Now touts are ruling the country in the name of politicians. But still, it serves them, Right?
11. Where is the Problem?
The problem is that the other pillars of the country are not existing. No Institution has discipline or vision or capacity to perform well. This state is imbalanced and standing on one pillar i.e. Pakistan Army. Because in 75 years, you have done only this big achievement. Suppressing other institutions and extending your institution. If Pakistan Army fails to achieve stability, then nothing is left in the state of Pakistan.
Nothing can cause nations to flourish like justice.
Khalifa – Hazrat Ali (RA)
So it’s our big limitation that unless we restore the other pillars of the country and this you (army) have to do it. Because Army is nothing without a country, and a country is everything without an Army. You have to maintain control and restore others institutions.
The army needs to unite and maintain control. Army has to retreat back, they have to. As there is no other option left. The 111 Bridge needs to be removed, and the ISI has to stop manipulating civilian control which it has been doing for 75 years. The writing is on the wall. And I hope they could read it if they are literate enough.
But that are future steps, but at this moment you have to maintain control in the present even if you have to pay a heavy price for peace and stability.
12. Why Pakistan Army has to take such steps?
Because there is no one now who could do that. That order and discipline. The army have to retreat in such a manner that other institutions are built in series so that Pakistan could stand on four pillars rather than one pillar.
13. What Choices General Bajwa has?
When a person retires, he usually thinks about his legacy. General Qamar Bajwa’s is retiring in few weeks leaving behind a pathetic legacy. But still, he has about 20 days. In my opinion, he still can create a legacy and leave it for other guidance as after 20 days you will be totally irrelevant. In the last 6 months, a retiring person should take tough decisions as that could make a landmark for successors. And the successor will not be cowardly enough to retreat back from the successor’s legacy.
Stand Up Bajwa, Stand Up. And clean your mess!
Time has arrived to follow your own statements stated at graduating ceremony of cadets on 8th October, 2022:
As a leader, you need to have courage and ability to take difficult decisions and then accept the full responsibility.
COAS – General Qamar Javed Bajwa
